We regret to inform you that Dr. Hayder Al-Shamaa has resigned from his role as GP Partner at our Practice, effective from 24th December 2024.
Dr. Al-Shamaa was based at our Little Common site, and we are currently working on interim solutions for his patient list, which includes approximately 2,000 patients. To ensure continued care, all affected patients will have their ‘registered GP’ reassigned to one of our existing 9 GP Partners or our salaried GP. This will help us maintain safe and effective levels of patient care.
We can however announce that we have a new GP, with 15 years’ experience, joining us in March 2025. Additionally, we are recruiting another new GP to join our team, and we expect this role to be filled soon. As such, some patients will only temporarily be assigned to one of our current team members.
We will continue to keep you updated on this transition and any further developments in the coming weeks. Our priority is to ensure that all patients have equitable access to the services they need.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Dr Al-Shamaa has asked us to share this message to the patients he has cared for during his many years at the Practice.
To my wonderful patients – How twenty years have flown by!
Thank you for trusting me with your care and that of your loved ones, it has been the greatest privilege of my career. It is time for a new stage of life for me, but I will never forget our time together.
Dr. Hayder Al-Shamaa
