Precautionary Ramipril Recall

Important Patient Notice – Please Read

Some cartons of Ramipril 2.5 mg Capsules manufactured by Crescent Pharma Ltd (batch GR155023) may contain blister strips of Ramipril 10 mg Capsules due to a packaging error at the manufacturing site. This could result in patients unintentionally taking a higher dose than prescribed.

Information for patients

If you have been prescribed Ramipril 2.5 mg Capsules and have a Crescent Pharma Ltd pack:

  • Check the outer carton:
    • If the batch number is NOT GR155023, you can continue to use your medicine as normal.
    • If the batch number IS GR155023, open the pack and check the blister strips inside.
  • Check the blister strips:
    • If the blister strips are labelled Ramipril 2.5 mg Capsules, you may continue to take your medicine as prescribed.
    • If any blister strip is labelled Ramipril 10 mg Capsules, do not take the medicine.

If you find Ramipril 10 mg Capsules in a 2.5 mg pack:

  • Stop taking the capsules immediately.
  • Contact your pharmacy for advice and return the pack.
  • Contact your GP or prescriber to discuss your treatment and obtain a new prescription if needed.
