Tests and results

Test results

Please call after 2pm to enquire about your test results or use your NHS account (on the NHS website or in the NHS App).

Our reception team will have more time to deal with your request after this time. Please note that information will only be given to the person it relates to unless consent has been given to speak to another person on the patient’s behalf.

It is your responsibility to contact the practice for your test results, and to make an appointment if required to do so.

Urine samples

Urine sample pots can be obtained from reception.

We are unable to accept samples in glass jars but if you do not have a urine pot then you may decant the sample in private into a urine pot at the surgery.

If a sample is handed in on a Friday this must be before 11.00 in case it has to go up to the hospital for further investigation; urine samples cannot be held at the surgery over the weekend.

If a sample is handed in on Monday to Thursday ideally this should be before 11.00 am in case it has to go up to the hospital for further investigation, but the sample can be held overnight in the fridge.

The receptionist will ask you to complete a brief form when handing in the sample giving your details and either the symptoms or the reason, unless you already have a pathology form from a Doctor.
