Healthcare assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), ECG monitoring, BP monitoring, urinalysis, spirometry, smoking cessation and new patient checks. They can also assist in the minor surgery, diabetic and cardiac clinics.  They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
